Now embed Google Maps to your websites and blogs!

Global Search giant Google has redesigned Google Maps with an embed feature which offers easy integration with blogs and websites. Now embed a simple map, driving directions or local search into a blog or website.

Embedded maps will function same as the full website and will remember users's recent searches and display ads accordingly.  Google also stated the rolling out of ads feature, based on the users's recent searches and interests and displayed them in different color. However, the existing embeds will still display the old maps style, as reported by Ken Hoetmer, Product Manager, Google Maps API via the official Google Geo Developers blog.

Hoetmer described, “This new on-map design will allow relevant local businesses to connect with your users, similar to the ads you currently see in the new Google Maps and Google Maps for Mobile.” Also with this release, Google also updated the Google Maps/Earth APIs Terms of Service so as to empower it in launching the new APIs with advertising.

Here's the procedure for embedding Google Maps:

- You must make sure how the map you want to embed appears in the current map      display.

- Click on the bottom of the left panel.

- Copy the HTML under 'Paste HTML to embed in website and paste it to the source code of your blog and website.

Customization and previewing of the map, before copying of HTML is allowed to users. However users will not be able to embed Traffic maps and some other Maps features yet.

The Search giant renovated its design and launched the redesigned Google Maps in May this year.  Initially this app was launched in beta and was capable of doing only basic searching and browsing. After that Google added lots of features and easy shortcuts that were unavailable in beta.
